My idea comes from a gift i've made for my girlfriend this last christmas, it was a ferris wheel with carts that could hold jewelry as well as some secret drawers. Initially i wanted to motorize the wheel but the holidays came too fast and i didn't have the time to make it so i've just put a nob connected to the wheel axis with a belt, but i had some problems with the design and it didn't work as it should.
So now i believe this is the right time to take this idea to the next level! Not just a simple wheel but adding a carousel, some dynamic lighting, sensors and a world clock with calendar.
In the image above i just made a simple schematic of the positions but it has and will evolve from this surely. The idea has already turned more into a futuristic look and a play of color, lights and movement.
I think the system should work with a clock/calendar, having the opening and closing hours, the lights interacting with the daylight, maybe having a sound reactive lighting. I was thinking a mix of wood and acrylic.
