Filipe Silvestre

My name is Filipe Silvestre and i'm from Portugal, more precisely from Sintra. I'm just finishing my master thesis on Materials Science engineering at Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia from Universidade Nova de Lisboa. I've always loved to creat and make my own ideas and projects wish led me to start using CAD software and more recently (about 3 years ago) got in to 3D printing. I've started by making my own 3D printer at home with little to zero experience on it and so far i've researched on this subject in the Materials Science Departament from my faculty, as well as fully designing and creating my own.

For the last two year i've been the person responsible for the Laboratory of Design and Innovation created with a grant from American Corner Portugal at the faculty library. Also since i started working there, i've been preparing the creation of FCT FabLab wish ended up taking a little more time to happen then we've expecteded. Since its inauguration i'm the person responsable for it.
